Hey folks, John here. I was wondering who all is planning to come up before Solstice to try to get ready for it. As many of you know, we're a bunch of "new" Bears around here and I personally haven't got a clue as to what we need to do on our end to get ready for the event. Some guidance and help would be most refreshing. I look forward to meeting and greeting everyone that comes down the road....PEACE OUT......John

Tue, May 26, 2009 - 4:22 PMif you wait we will come,,, ahhh yess solstice coming , cant wait, having possibly a few signs pointing in the right direction on that turn going up left from sawyers bar way would be good , its seems like someone always gets lost. also, people will want to camp out so having areas cleaned up that are suitable for camping is great,, weed wack that area going to twin cedar thats a agreat place to camp, also weed wack the knoll maybe, around the walnut tree by the garden in the back by the compost is a nice place to camp. its seems like you guys have been cleaning up quite abit so i imagine its as clean or cleaner than last summer solstice, getting the sweat area ready folks will want to sweat thats for sure.. i guess we can ask whos bringing what food, there will be lots. im going to bring watermelons oranges and sausages and eggs and spuds for at least one morning breakfast. and a varity of veggies. summer kitchen will get used so getting that ready , also i will bring up at least 10 gallons worth of propane, in two 5 gallon tanks, i think there is no propane..
YEHHHHHHHH solstice, see ya all sooner, actually i will probably see you john sooner..

Some good things to do in preparation are:
have plenty of cooking wood
clean mainhouse
clean the sweat and have it stocked with firewood
clean the mainhouse stove. (have you been shown how to do that?)
do some weed eating
That's what I can think of at the moment.
I'm so looking forward to being there soon!

Sun, May 31, 2009 - 1:16 PMJohn here.......is there anybody out the in the greater Bear family that's familiar with the old weaving loom here at ther ranch? We have a couple of folks here that are pretty stoked about learning to weave on it, but alas, nobody here has a clue. We've made a "dedicated" sewing/craft and weaving area in the upstairs of the MainHouse and have the loom (and it's million parts) up there now. We're hoping someone coming for solstice can show us how to put everything together and maybe give us a lesson or two.

There was, at one point, about 30 gal. at Vi's for the bear.(Travis told me about it)...sooo, I finally found the list of stuff--pretty much what I expected would be needed...Looking fwd. to finally greeting you personally...maybe you can use the CB to reach Vi (or ask Travis to) to ask about the propane--I guess it should still be there.
